Program Coordinator (1.0 FTE) – 9.5 months
Reports to the District School Psychologist (School Violence Prevention & Mental Health Training Program, Program Director)
Salary: $45,000.00 (max)
Start Date: Vacant, to be hired within 60 days of award funding date
Nature of Position
The Program Coordinator (PC) will train in violence prevention and Youth Mental Health First Aid and pre-interventions. The PC will work in conjunction with the Program Director to ensure all requirements and goals are met in a timely manner. The PC will implement the trainings to all staff at 14 middle schools and 10 high schools.
Accountability
This position reports to the Program Director of the project.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Primarily conducts all scheduled sessions trainings in violence prevention, mental health, behavior interventions skills strategies and other trainings as aligned in project goals and objectives.
2. Serves as the liaison between and among schools, families, and community agencies.
3. Recommends and implements trauma informed practices.
4. Maintains accurate records and data collection as per project deliverables.
5. Assists in the compilation of reports required by federal, state, and local agencies.
6. Assists in review of evaluative measures used, piloted, and adopted by the project.
7. Assists with school site needs assessment and collaborates with the project team.
8. Assists in planning, designing, producing, and disseminating project developed materials and other resources from the SAMSHA, State Department, and other agencies.
9. Participates in project staff meetings and in project planning, monitoring, evaluation, and staff development activities.
10. Performs any project-related tasks as assigned by the Program Director.
11. Performs other related duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications
? An individual who has a) a) documented competence in counseling children and adolescents; and who is b) licensed by the State or certified by an independent professional regulatory authority and c) who holds a minimum of a master’s degree in school counseling, social work, school psychology or LPC from a program accredited by
the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs or the equivalent d) and who has a minimum of 2 years of working in a school setting.
? Has knowledge of and experience with social emotional learning, behavioral, and mental programs as they relate to children and adolescences.
? Is familiar with the community, populations, parents/families and schools to be served.
? Ability to work with and serve diverse populations.
